Lauren Hurn has served as the Executive Director of Tuscaloosa Angels since 2022. A native of Mobile County, Alabama, Lauren has called Tuscaloosa home since moving here to attend The University of Alabama. She graduated from the UA College of Human Environmental Sciences in 2011 with a degree in Human Development and Family Studies.
Before stepping into nonprofit leadership, Lauren served in multiple roles at The University of Alabama and later taught middle school in the Tuscaloosa County School System. Her professional background in education and student development uniquely equips her to lead with both compassion and strategy.
Lauren’s passion for foster care and adoption was shaped by watching family members and close friends open their homes to children in need. She was drawn to Tuscaloosa Angels because of its innovative, relational approach to strengthening the entire foster family unit. Lauren is deeply committed to ensuring that every child experiencing foster care is seen, supported, and given the opportunity to thrive in a loving and stable home.
Lauren and her husband, Jeff, have three busy and energetic kids and are active members at Calvary Tuscaloosa.
